Mass Incarceration is now being called The New Jim Crow. This is becoming a true epidemic in the United States. However what many individuals may not be aware of is the social and moral cost of mass incarceration especially in African American communities. Many of us may know of someone that has been involved with the criminal justice system. And the sad part is that there are still youth out there that sadly believe that going to prison is a rite of passage. Many books and articles have been written about this matter. Millions of individuals  go to the theaters and pay to watch movies that focus on crimes and life of individuals in jail or prison. And watching the news and television shows has increased in the number of viewers. I am not saying that individual that are committing crimes should go unpunished. However in poor and disadvantaged communities there may well be a tipping point at which rigorous crime policies and laws can do more harm than good.

Join me and my special guest Alexis Miranda as she provide information regarding her upcoming project and Aaron Harvey as he share his experience and upcoming projects. Education, resources, laws, families, and support is very important when it comes to reducing crime and keeping our communities safe. When our love ones go to jail the entire family suffers especially the children and the community.

Call in and share your experience and knowledge. All callers are welcome. Monday 7/31/17 at 12pm Pacific.
