We talk about LGBTQ military tonight! A new bill has been introduced that seeks to ensure service members discharged under the policy are eligible for care from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Of that bill, House Representative Joseph Kennedy III says:
“The bias and bigotry of this president should not be used to deny health care to any LGBTQ veteran who has served this nation. By passing the SERVE Act, we will protect transgender veterans until the day we overturn this cruel, misguided ban on transgender troops.”
Also-- LGBTQ military nonprofits OutServe-SLDN and the American Military Partner Association are merging to form the Modern Military Association of America, which will be the nation’s largest organization dedicated to education, advocacy, and support for LGBTQ service members, military spouses, veterans, family members, and allies.
