On the Fringe of Wild is the new film from Canadian film maker Emma Catalfamo!  It premiered at film festivals in San Diego and Miami, and today we have them in our house!

Director and visionary Emma Catafamo and film star Mikael Melo join us!

On the Fringe of Wild follows the romance between teenage boys Peter and Jack, as they wrestle with their sexuality, mental health, and the toxic family dynamics that threaten to drive them apart. A 2000's "Romeo & Juliet" type romance set in small town Ontario, where love does not win, but the surviving players grow up to accept themselves as members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Emma Catalfamo is an accomplished, creative and visually-oriented film maker with extensive artistic interests. Her previous cinematic works have dealt with themes such as addiction, mental illness, unexpected pregnancy and toxic masculinity, as well as oppressive gender roles in general.  Mikael Melo is a Canadian actor and award winning creator. His is a host, producer, and writer based out of Toronto. His themes include body positivity, LGBTQ+ issues, self-love, popular culture, and what's trending.

Today we discuss the new film and the themes it addresses!
