PRO?WHOA! is the fifth "adult" album and eighth album overall by the soul singer-songwriter Nikka Costa. The album is noteworthy for its music direction change, from the funk and soul of its immediate predecessor toward a more pop-oriented aesthetic. Unlike her previous independently released album Pebble to a Pearl which was distributed by Stax Records, PRO?WHOA! will be distributed by her previous label Virgin Records. It was initially scheduled for a September 3, 2010 European release, however the album has been held back as of February, 2011; In April 2011, it was announced via Nikka's Facebook profile that the album would be released on June 21, 2011. As of now, the release format has been changed to EP status, featuring only 6 tracks on the June 21 release. It is currently available for preorder from iTunes and other digital outlets.[2]
