The American Declaration of Rights and Duties of Man serve as a safety net for U.S.  Afro-Descendants. Just because the  U.S. government is not a party to the American Convention on Human Rights, does not mean we can not get a remedy. The Pendo  Center for  Human Rights and Self-Determination is working series of cases citing numerous violations based on the United States' ongoing infringements of the right to use and occupy their ancestral land in the United  States.
