LARRY WHITE

Larry White was born and raised in the heart of San Francisco, California and has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1998. At the age of nine Larry received his first guitar, and has been playing ever since. In 10th grade he formed his first band, Grand Theft. Grand Theft was signed to Honey Records under Harvey Fuqua and had the hit record "How Could You Be So Cold". Grand Theft stayed together until Larry was in his early

twenties, when he had the opportunity to audition for The Whispers. Larry beat out 30 other candidates and was chosen to be the lead guitarist for The Whispers. Larry made significant contributions to the musical stylings of The Whispers and was with them for six albums, and played on such hits as “And The Beat Goes On” “Rock Steady” and “It Just Gets Better With Time”. Larry also received multiple gold and platinum plaques for his work with The Whispers

During his twelve years with The Whispers Larry also had the opportunity to form the group Collage, which had the number one hit “Get in Touch with Me” as well as other hits such as “Romeo Where’s Juliet”.In the early 80’s Larry wrote the song “Girl Friend” with the group New Edition in mind. During a New Edition concert in Philadelphia Larry had the opportunity to present the song to Ralph Tresvant, however, the heads of MCA (Jheryl Busby & Louil Silas) decided the song would be a better fit for Bobby Brown, who was about to embark on a solo career. “Girl Friend” appeared on Bobby Brown’s album “King of Stage” and was a number one hit on the Billboard charts. A bond was formed between Larry and Bobby Brown and as a result, Bobby asked Larry to help write and produce his next album “Don’t Be Cruel” along with Babyface.
