TO VOCALIST AL JOYCE AND ELIZABETH DIAS, DEBBIE MOVED TO THE MONTEREY PENINSULA AT AN EARLY AGE. HER GRANDFATHER, PROFESSOR B.L. JOYCE, WAS A WELL KNOWN MUSIC PROFESSOR WHO TAUGHT MANY OF THE JAZZ AND R & B GREATS OF TODAY. HE IS IN THE BAND MASTERS HALL OF FAME. TAUGHT AT SAMUEL HUSTON COLLEGE IN AUSTIN, TEXAS AND TAUGHT SUCH GREATS AS; KENNY DORMAN; GIL ASKEY & MARTIN BANKS WHO PERFORMED WITH FAMOUS BANDS SUCH AS DUKE ELLINGTON. SHE IS THE NIECE OF THE LEGENDARY, NANCY WILSON. DEBBIE WAS ALSO A FEATURED SINGER WITH RENOWNED BASS PLAYER, THE LATE, LEROY VINNEGAR. THE MUSIC I WAS DESTINED TO SING IS IN MY DNA. SONGS ARE STORIES - SOMEONE’S STORY - AND IT SHOULD BE SUNG THAT WAY. THOSE ARE THE SONGS I CHOOSE TO SING – SONGS WITH MEANING – SOMEONE’S STORY.
