The Rest of the Story~

Those of you that are old enough will remember a radio personalitiy named Paul Harvey, who was one of the most beloved commentators of the 1960's to the 1980's. He could tell stories in a way that put you inside the story, wanting to know more. Toward the end of the story he would say, "And now for the rest of the story", and he would reveal to you information about the person or situation that made everything you didin't understand about the story become clear. Without this information you would be without resolution, and be highly unsatisfied with the ending. 

Here is my example:

This morning my wife left me. Not only did she leave me, but she left me for a woman. In fact, she is right now flying on Alaska Airlines to Walla Walla Washington to be with this woman. She made it clear that she loves this woman with all her heart, and that there was nothing I could do or say that would stop her from going to be with her.

in today's news media this story is tragic for me, but has a happy ending for my wife, who after 39 years of marriage found her true love, and is leaving me to start a new life. The head line might read, "Husband of 39 years loses his wife to female lover."

Now for the rest of the story.

Becky's has a sister that lives in Walla Walla, and has becomse ill. Becky loves her sister so much that she bought a plane ticket to fly to visity her for a few days. Yes, she did leave me behind, because someone has to take car of the animals while she is away. That would be me.

Without this information you could make any story you want out of the sketchy information. But with all the information you can come to the proper conclusion.
