Knee Pain~

The past 3-4 weeks have been 'hell' due to the fact that I have been beset with severe knee pain. For those of you that have experienced this malady the issue is that the pain is pervasive, and becomes (at times) all consuming; so much so that it is difficult to think about anything else. The pain affects all aspects of life, from work to sleep, to everything in between.

I went to my Primary Care Giver, and was asked to do certain things in the way of stretching, Icing, heating, wrapping, etc., and due to certain other ongoing conditions I was not able to take an oral medications for the pain. All of these things help while doing them, but there has been no long term pain reduction. Today, after our program ends at 11AM, I am going for X-rays, with another follow up appointment with my primary next week, where he will make an assessment that my include a referral to an orthopedist/knee specialist.

The process is excruciatingly slow, and very painful, but hopefully will result in a diagnosis and treatment plan that will be good.

Pain is a great motivator. It is also the only thing that moves many people into an activity that has any hope of mitigating the pain, whatever the source of that pain.

When life goes on and on in it's daily routine, with no changes, no annoying propblems, we often get innured to what we do or don't do, and don't think about why we do what we do. No one wants to have to deal with painful situations or people, or where we are in time. We would all rather just 'keep on keeping on', instead of trying to figure out where we are spiritually, and what we need to do to secure our eternal lives.

Right now the world is not a nice place to be, and thinking about the future can be scary and painful. it is important to know where and 'when' we are in time, so we can be prepared for what is coming. Do not ignore the pain, deal with it!
