WDJW~

Years ago there was a movement in the Christian church that caught fire for a time, and then died out becauise it became clear that it went against the prevailing sentiment that 'grace covers all our sins'! That movement was indicated by the acronym WWJD - What Would Jesus Do! It was a nice idea while it lasted, yet the idea that that our actions could affect the outcome of our salvation went against the prime tenet of the church (via the teachings of the 'apostle' Paul) that our deeds have no affect on our salvation, that it is our simple belief in Jesus and His blood shed for our sins that saves us. So asking the question What Would Jesus Do? became problematic as a theology, and was soon dismissed as an operational identity of the church.

There is a question that is seldom if ever asked by Christians today, because when it is asked it identifies an individual responcibility for salvation that cannot be placed on anyone but the person asking the question; that is, What Does Jesus Want? The answer lays in the idea that there are two things that a person must accomplish, that are specified in the words of Jesus, that demonstrate that a person can and must be active in their own salvation.

"So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus." Rev, 12:17.

Everyone that is Born Again, born of this Woman - the Holy Spirit, proves that rebirth by doing the two things specified in this verse; they must keep the 10 Commandments, and hold (only) to the testimony of Jesus, that He brought to earth from the Father. Doing the Truth proves Salvation.

"But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God." John 3:21.
