Old Friends~

Today is the birthday of a college friend from years ago, Ed. We were roomates for 2 years, and were also the core of the tenor section of the College Chamber Singers, the premier choral group of the school. In fact, we met in that music group, and became roomates for both my first and second junior years (because of a change of major I crammed four years of college into five). He was five years older than me, as he came back to college after working those years after his high school graduation as a dental technician, and wanted to go into hospital management, which he did for the remained of his career. Right after graduation he married his best friend, Margie, whom he also met in the chorale. At their request, I photographed their wedding, which was my first experience as a wedding photographer; and this eventually turned into a 28 year career in photography, with over 900 weddings during those years.

We communicate less often these days than we did years ago, but we remain friends to this day. Our shared experiences in college and after, whether together of not, has solidified our friendship for eternity. I love him as a brother.

He is also a strong believer in the God of Paul. Near 20 years ago he came out here with Margie and their children for a visit with family, and I was included in the visit. We chatted over a meal together and I carefully felt him out with regards to the fledgling concepts about who Paul might have been and what he did, and got the response I have recieved countless times in my work with Spirit of Truth Ministry, and that was that Paul was in the Bible, therefore he must be right. For the sake of our friendship I did not push the envelope of Ed's security. We are still very good friend today.

I will leave it up to God to take care of Ed and Margie, and their salvation. This is as it should be.

The harvest will go forward, and God and truth will win in the end.
