Hard Truth, Hard Data~

Finding the Truth stems from being able to confront the fear of having to let go of a cherished belief because the facts of the matter don't lead that way. Emotions are an important part of life. Yet to live solely through emotions creates problems when dealing with a reality that counters what you want or expect. The overwhelming need to 'be right' about any particular issue cannot be based in anything but how you feel about that issue. Being 'right' because of a belief based on a feeling allows a person to believe a lie as if it is the truth, and then say "It's not my fault" when you discover it isn't. When you mix feelings with a method of discovering Truth that needs hard data to generate that Truth, it becomes impossible to separate the facts from the faith you need to believe the opposing point of view.

Jesus brought Hard Data about Salvation and the Kingdom of God directly from the Father in Heaven, and gave that Data, that Truth, to His own eyewitness disciples (Matthew and John), who wrote it down, and eventually made it into the compendium that we know today as the New Testament. This testimony is not their words, because the Testimony of Jesus has a chain of evidence that is immutable; The Father gave this Truth to Jesus (His Son), who gave it directly to His eyewitness disciples, where it found its way to a place where we can read it for ourselves, and know that THOSE WORDS are Truth (John 17:20). This is the Hard Truth, the Hard Data, that leads to the Kingdom of God, and eternal life.

This 'method' of discovery has been supplanted by the words of an 'apostle' that are different (by his own words) than what these eyewitness disciples wrote. These words are based on hearsay, not facts. These words use emotions to convince people that salvation is a gift, when the Hard Data from Jesus says it is not.

Facts don't care about emotions.
