The Definition of Survivor-Centered

Join our co-host Oya L Sherrills and David Guizar as they discuss they discuss The Defintion of Survivor-Centered. Its an incredibly important time to define and if necessary redefine the terms of the movement, there is alot of money being allocated through the American Rescue Plan and at the city level through Mayor Garcetti's proposed budget. Many folks will seek to appropriate the work that folks have been doing to stop the violence and provide healing services on the ground in their communties. Many folks who have been engaged in work other than community based public safety and survivor advocacy will quickly pivot in order to be funded. This is the reality in the world of competitive grant-making but what does is it mean for the future of the survivor-centered advocacy movement. Let's Discuss!
