Tonight, on It's Real Tallk Radio, we will be discussing the controversy involving rappers Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez. Recently, Megan Thee Stallion, on an Instagram Live video, has publicly admitted that rapper Tory Lanez did indeed shoot her in the foot. Since Megan's confession, Hip Hop has been in a frenzy, with more members of the community denouncing Tory. As of yet, we have still yet to publicly hear from Tory Lanez. ZMultiple rappers including T.I. and Bun B have publicly responded with their feelings on the matter, as Tory continues to get criticized for Megan 's powerful accusations.
We will also be addressing the shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man who was shot 7 times in the back by Wisconsin police officer, Rusten Sheskey, who has since been placed on leave, as the Wisconsin police department continues to investigate the shooting. In the viral video, you can see Jacob Blake walking away to get in his vehicle before officers grabbed then immediately shot him 7 times. Reports are that Jacob Blake is in serious, but stable condition and is likely to be paralyzed from the waist down. Since the shooting of Jacob Blake, enraged protesters have taken the streets to make their voices heard and there has been nonstop national media coverage.
Following the release of the video of the Jacob Blake shooting, athletes (led by the NBA) have taken to their social media pages and media outlets to make their voices heard, with LeBron James being the most prominent player to speak out about the racial injustice and police brutality done to the Black community. The NBA players share a common view. "Enough is enough!" On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, players from the Milwaukee Bucks decided to not play their playoff game against the Orlando Magic, which eventually sparked a united front, with the other remaining NBA teams, as they all boycotted their playoff games.
