We graduated Wednesday June 15 and were looking for a quick trip anywhere but here, so we settled on San Diego with no real plan except to do nothing

Friday 6-16-2017  we went over to Coronado to explore some of my wife’s favorite Thrift Shops, while there we found a couple of Pocket parks so I could play with my camera and get some shots of the city’s bay shoreline. We stopped at the San Diego Maritime Museum because had read about the USS Dolphin in a couple of books I had read. The San Salvador was also there. I had seen a Huell Howser show about the recreation of the ship so I had to go and see it for myself , The Russian Sub B-39 was quite interesting because after serving on 3 supposedly ASW ships whose job it was to find the Russians it was kind of cool to actually see one.

The Hidden Gem was the Model of the USS Chicago CG-11 on display in the Museum’s main display. The gentleman who runs the Hot Dog Stand was kind enough to take my picture (flag and all)

We ate dinner at Sardina’s Italian Restaurant, We split meat lovers Calzone and an antipasto salad and still have leftover for lunch. Tripadvisor.com Listed Sardina has the number two Italian restaurant in San Diego but the closet to where we were staying. Would highly recommend it We stayed at the Best Western Mission Bay off of Claremont drive You cannot go wrong with Best Western
