Choosing a government leader is llke choosing a spouse: you try to select someone whom you believe has your best interest at heart, because they'll be making decisions that affect your life. If you have a government official in office that doesn't care about you, that's like being in an abusive marriage. You feel trapped, you're hurting, and they don't care. We have a collective responsibility to vote for good government leaders. Marching, picketing and protesting may get attention, but it doesn't elect a single government leader. Today's guests, Community Organizer Jedidiah Brown, creator of the investment project The First 50 and Citizens Action Illinois Co-Director William McNary discuss their efforts to organize people to move beyond protest marches and take control of their government by registering and voting.
