This summer, authors from across the country are gathering in Chicago for National Bookfair that gives writers a chance to tell Our Story. From children's books to books for teens, from history to sociology to science, from novels to biographies, these authors bring an explosion of creativity. Asadah Kirkland, author of the book "Beating Black Kids" is one of the creators of the Soullful Chicago Bookfair, to be held 10am to 9pm Saturday July 16, 2016 from Eberhart to Cottage Grove in the Woodlawn community. She discusses the people and events that will encourage the use of language, creativity, music and reading in the sharing of information.
