Hurricane Harvey has made many reflect on the true meaning of life. Is it really just all about accumulating "stuff"? What about when everything you have is gone, then what is your life really abaout? Today we talk to Omar Shareef and Michael Shareef, volunteers helping at Rainbow PUSH in Chicago withthe efforts to send supplies to survivors of Hurricane Harvey. Then later inour show we hear an enligtening address by near-death experiencer Anita Moorjani, whose testimony challenges many long held views about life after life. Over the last several decades, we have evolved in our thinking about what we call "death." Perhaps it is because medical technology has advanced, resuscitating people whose hearts have stopped and who have stopped breathing long enough for them to be considered clinically "dead" only to have them come back to life with an amazing story of what they experienced on "the other side." Many have explained that what really happens is not death, but a transition from life inside a physical body to life in spirit form, an etheric body that enables one to expand in conscious awareness. So now, we often refer to one who has passed from this life as having made their "transition." Still, culturally, many are tied to long time indoctrinations of an angry judgemental God who will punish those who failed to believe concepts and follow rules as taught by religious organizations.
