DREAM DAY-August 28th is one of the 3 Days of Respect. It is visually affirmed by wearing Black and White Colors in the Spirit of WAO/way-o/WeAreOne, in Moral and Spiritual Principles of righteousness, justice, peace, peoplehood and cultural co-existence. The other 2 Days are Jan. 15th and April 4th. The Days of Respect are now pending in Springfield, as H.B. 4954 to put them on the School Calendar as part of Civic History, from the Jim Crow/genocide Survivor's Standpoint. The DREAM DAY Vision Quest/Procession will allow children to ride in cars, vans or buses; exercising social distancing from the west side to the east side pausing at the Landmarks named in Chicago after Martin Luther King, Jr. They include: Dr. King's Legacy Apartments, Marquette Park King Memorial, King Drive, King College Prep H.S. and King Service Center. The vehicles in the Quest will be decorated with Biblical Scriptures about children. We want them to know how precious they are and just riding and looking will put a smile on their faces. The Quest will end with a Movement Music Jubilee honoring the Earthday/Birthday of Mamadee and celebrating her 70 years as a Freedom Fighter that began when she was 5 years old and refused to give up her seat on the front of the Greyhound Bus. Ald. Sophia King, Ald. Michael Scott and Ald. David Moore will be the featured guests talking about the signififcance of Rev. Dr. King and the lasting Memorials to him in their Wards.
