Our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy have changed. We think you'll like them better this way.
We are taught as children that when we are hurt or sad or distressed to just "suck it up," and stop crying. "Be strong!" we are told when someone passes away and we are grieving, as if crying is a sign of weakness. But when we don't acknowledge emotional pain, it comes out in other ways, often in dysfunctional behavior. When do we know that we may have become depressed and are in need of therapy. We'll have a discussion with Three Black Moms and talk about the signs that indicate we need help, and where to go to get it.
