Lama Langdrol is one of the few Black (African American) Tibetan Lamas.
In his film, Festival Canceled due to Heavy Rain, he talks about how, while growing up as a young Black man in the 'hood, he and his peers were hunted by the police, while many other young Black men were being sent to fight in Vietnam.
He also reminds us that nearly three million tons of explosives were dropped on the small Buddhist country of Cambodia during the Vietnam War, with more destructive power than all of the bombs dropped during World War II.
He will be exploring these experiences in conversation with Zhana.
We will be continuing the discussion on "How Can We Create a Peaceful World?".
