Communities are safe places to live because everybody knows everybody and children are cared for by all the adults. Today what we have are neighborhoods, places where people live that are sectioned off from each other and divided. We have housing complexes where people don't know each other and don't speak to each other and don't interact. We have places that are boarded up and empty because people have been evicted for not having enough money to pay rent. We have people, fathers and mothers who live on the street and no one helps them and so we have children who have to fight to survive.
