They are beautiful, fashionably dressed, appearing self assured and confident, but inside they are deeply wounded. These are today's young women, the Millenials and Gen Z's who are getting involved in personal relationships, having children they didn't plan to have with men who weren't prepared to be fathers. They are the "baby Mamas" with drama we see on Maury. They are the overly sexualized women in the music videos, comfortables with being called "ho's". These are women who sometimes end up in the news, involved in violent criminal acts, drug use, prostitution; subjected to incarceration, attempting suicide. We, the older women, criticize and condemn them without seeing how we may have played a role in their destruction by refusing to see what shaped their lives. Underneath the beautifully made up faces and stylish hairdos are the scars of sexual abuse, abandonment, betrayal, and pain. Many wounded young women learn to use sex as a survival tool, a means to feel love even when there is no love involved. Often the first sexual abuse they experienced was at the hands of a trusted parent, a relative, a family friend, or even a religious leader. What we are witnessing in today's young women are expressions of their pain. But there is a power that can heal even the deepest wounds. Today we bring you a young woman on a mission to help lead the many wounded woman to the Source of all love, that great Power that is available to us all if we can only find it. This is Part 1 of a three part series on Spiritual Healing from Emotional Trauma. We want you to hear Jessica's Testimony. It's Jess So Real.
