In our Economic Empowerment Segment, we talked about The Congressional Black Caucasus' "For The People" Job Fair, and the MSNBC special "Making The Grade" dealing with education. 

Njia Kai from The African World Festival talked about the features and performances that will talk place at the 29th Annual African World Festival including an appearance by Actress Bernadette Stanis (Thelma from Good Times). The AWF takes place Fri. Aug. 19th-Sun. Aug. 21st. in Detroit's Hart Plaza.


In our 2nd Hour we talked with Kwasi Kwamu, Honeycomb from The Urban Network Bookstore about their upcoming, "Black August Block Party" with featured guest, Willie "Sundiata" Tate of the "San Quentin 6". Sundiata Tate from “San Quentin 6” called in also.  Angie from MAD "Making A Difference In The Community" and Sabir Bey stopped by to talk about their Community Rally on Sat. August 13th.


In our 3rd & 4th Hour we gave an update on the North Carolina Eugenics case dealing with the forced sterilization of thousands of people. In our "Power Of Media" Segment, we continued our lively discussion dealing with the blog from Your Black World asking the question, which show was better, "Good Time vs. The Cosby Show".
