TONIGHT: Listen to The African History Network Show, Monday, Jan. 2nd, 2012 8pm-11pm EST. We'll continue our discussion on "Should African-Americans Celebrate Christmas" & "What Is Kwanzaa?" We'll discuss the history of Christmas going back to the Pre-Christian and it's origins in the Festival of Saturnalia. We'll also discuss why Dec. 25th was chosen as the date of the celebration and the symbols of Christmas like Santa Claus, The Christmas Tree and mistletoe. We'll continue our discussion on "What Is Kwanzaa?" and the need to practice the principles of the Nguzo Saba 365 days a year. We'll share more articles and ask the question, can Kwanzaa be made popular again like it was back in the early 1990's. We'll discuss pros and cons of celebrating as well. Did you celebrate Kwanzaa?
