We'll also discuss Henrietta Lacks and her Immortal Cells. She was an African-American woman who died of cervical cancer in 1951. Her cells known scientifically as HeLa cells, were used in the development of the Polio Vaccine, cloning, gene mapping and in vitro fertilization.

2nd Hour: Jan. 1st marked the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. Did it really free the slaves?

3rd Hour: In our Education Segment - Why African-American Teens with Racial Pride Do Better In School.
