Michael Imhotep host of The African History Network Show on 5-17-18 discussed a history of African American Jockeys dominating Horse Racing and how they were pushed out of this position because of Racism and jealous White Men after Slavery ends. On May 17th, 1875 the first Kentucky Derby was ran. Most people don't know it was won by a 19 year old African American man named Oliver Lewis.
