If her name, Bethune is familiar It is, the name, Evelyn shares in the name and legacy of Bethune-Cookman's founder Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune who is her grandmother. It is the dedication to education exemplified by her grandmother that has directed Dr. McLeod's lifelong pursuit: "Everything we do has a direct relationship to the faith-based concept of 'educate to serve.'
