Photobucket Oluwo/Baba Antonio Mondesire is a nationally respected Ifa Priest and Spiritual Counselor in African Traditional Religion As Clergy, he has represented faith via invocations, prayer or presentations at numerous post 9/11 interfaith venues in New York metropolitan area and served as regional representative of Church of Lukumi Babalú Ayé (CLBA). Born in the Bronx, New York of Puerto Rican and Eastern Caribbean descent, roots of his vocation//came from two sources: first through early childhood prodigal musical expression devoted to Orisa Sango and Oshun via influence of 1955 milestone classic LP "Chango" -- Afro-Cuban Drums & Chants by Rafael "Mongo" Santa Maria This early process led to accomplished skills as a Percussionist and Vocals with recording experience, international travel, requested CD reviews and online music commentary. The second source was development in maternal familial tradition of "Espiritismo -- where diasporal African inspired spirituality was edified and held in high**esteem as a source of personal spiritual healing and upliftment. Current projects include exploration and working through the spiritual dimensions of human suffering Vis a Vis applied theological training in real time to the clinical counseling of dying patients. Recent work include Adjunct Lecturer at CUNY"s Brooklyn College where he taught course "Spiritism & African Religions in Puerto Rico and other Spanish Speaking Caribbean Societies" and other related courses.
