Dubbed The Hip Hop Principal he has taken Hip Hop and channeled it into a tool to get young students excited about education while building their self-esteem and confidence. A project-based model for teaching valuable skills and lessons was extended from the classroom to practical application. The result was not only a student-created music video that screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, but students learned to use their passion to focus on education; self-respect and determination. They were honored for their accomplishment. The project was unparalleled with unique teaching methods, projects, and programs. A formerly at-risk school experienced skyrocketing test scores and decreased violence.
