Are Schools Prepared for Disasters?
During this Thanksgiving holiday thousands of families are suffering from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Hurricane Sandy has disrupted the education of thousands of school children in New York and New Jersey. How prepared are our schools to deal with natural disaster, terrorist attacks, and school shootings? Tune in to T.R.U. Our guest is Barry Crumbley.
Barry is a volunteer with the American Red Cross in Greater New York He is assigned to the Disaster Planning & Response department as a Government Liaison and works with the New York City Office of Emergency Management and all federal, state, tribal and local government authorities and agencies, an active member of the Westchester County and New York City Medical Reserve Corp., training officer of the International Preparedness Network, and supports the Bed-Stuy Volunteer Ambulance Corp., and member with the United States Civil Air Patrol; NYC Group (Emergency Services Officer). He is trained in the business of disaster preparedness, emergency management and emergency medical services and intense “hands on” practical experience.
