Marc Emery is an entrepreneur, founder of Cannabis Culture, a politician and Canadian rights activist whose advocacy outside of Canada is also known by those involved in international policy reform. Marc has endured many trials of cannabis prohibitions, he has been arrested and jailed several times for his cannabis activism across Canada, leading up to American authorities charging him, Michelle Rainy and Greg Williams with 'Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana", "Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana Seeds" and "Conspiracy to Engage in Money Laundering". On May 20, 2010, pleading guilty on May 24 to one count of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana, Marc was later extradited to the United States On September 10, 2010 and was sentenced to 5 years in prison minus time served.  After his release, in 2017 under Project Gator, Marc and Jodie were again arrested. Marc faced 15 charges, including conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, trafficking, and the possession of proceeds of crime. Marc and Jodie were then ordered to cease operating their Cannabis Culture dispensary and both were banned from entering any Cannabis Culture location or office, including the B.C. Marijuana Party and Cannabis Culture magazine headquarters in Vancouver, as well as being forbidden to speak with staff or deal with business operations in any way.
