Moses meaning drawing out, as he was drawn out of the water by the most important families in Egypt at the time, so too; his connection with the seat of power in Pharaoh would be with him all his life. Moses, who was drawn out, now was in charge of drawing out by the hand of mighty power of Jehovah. From infant to Prophet and even was a “God” to Pharaoh, while Aaron was “Prophet” all flowing from Jehovah and his divine call and mighty hand; in order to show the Glory of Jehovah, the Lord God and to reveal himself to his people and the world. To this end the Lord proved himself by his mighty hand, great love, and goal to keep the covenant that he made with Abraham. It was through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that his covenant flowed. Now the small band that came out of Canaan into Egypt during Joseph’s day was now a multitude. It would be this multitude of ragtag slaves from Egypt that God by Moses hand would transform into a mighty nation called Israel.
