For more than six decades, Bob Hope gave up having Christmas with his own children to entertain our troops. He also carried letters and cards from the troops stationed in war zones back to the USA.  On December 12th,  in his honor, a daughter of the legendary humanitarian, producer Linda Hope, appeared at the USO gala in Manhattan to help announce a new partnership with the USO and make a 1 Million to Fund the Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program for Military Families Worldwide. The program will help connect military kids with their loved ones who are serving our country. Through the Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program, that service member is able to read his newborn daughter a bed-time story from halfway around the globe. Service members can walk into participating USO locations, record themselves reading their child's favorite story and have that recording shipped home.  Perhaps some of the famous stars that accompanied Hope on his overseas visits or admired him such as Brook Shields, Sara Jessica Parker, Jay Leno, Marie Osmond will read some stories for the program.
