Tonight:Twila York, Huff Po blogger and Chicago Pagan Pride Local Coordinator and Phyllis Curott, a pioneering spiritual teacher and one of America’s first public Wiccan High Priestesses, founding of the first shamanic Wiccan tradition, the Temple of Ara, in the early 1980’s. As an attorney, she is an outspoken advocate of the rights of Pagans in the courts and the media. Phyllis is the author of the best selling memoir Book of Shadows, and WitchCrafting – The Spirituality of Making Magic, which revolutionized traditional Wiccan practices and theology and overturned the Threefold Law, as well as The Love Spell and numerous essays and articles. Phyllis was inducted into the Martin Luther King Jr. Collegium of Clergy and Scholars, honored by Jane Magazine as one of the Ten Gutsiest Women of the Year and by Time Magazine as one of America’s “leading voices.” New York Magazine described her teachings on the Earth’s spiritual wisdom as the “next big idea.” She was Vice Chair of the 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions and creator of the historic Inaugural Women’s Assembly, reflecting her activism in the interfaith community that dates back to the first modern Parliament in 1993.
