Believe it or not, nearly half of all children who enter kindergarten each year are not ready with needed skills, and serious long-term effects often follow those who are unprepared. While teaching at Stanford University’s laboratory preschool, Elissa was often asked by parents, “What can I do at home with my child to encourage their learning?” Oddly enough, her mother heard the same question 40 years ago when she began teaching.
