Amanda van der Gulik is a homeschooling mompreneur of two young children. She began her website, TeachingChildrenAboutMoney.com, March 2008 because she noticed that the one main subject missing in school for our children was 'how to manage their money and make it work for them'. Amanda's own money expertise comes from her own trials, errors and successes with building businesses, and investing in real estate and other ventures. She wants to help children to 'jump-start' their financial education and thereby avoid becoming another one of the tragic statistics of young bankruptcies. Amanda's mission is simply to empower children to go for their dreams and have power over their money by learning how to effectively earn it, manage it, and give some away to their favourite charities.
