A Kind Voice on Music - Jacob Shulman

Interview with Jacob Shulman about his opera, Role Playing Game.  Jacob has spent 3 years writing and composing Role Playing Game, an opera which blends Armenian folk music and Japanese videogame music into the opera style. 

It is set to premiere in Boston on Feb 22nd and Feb 23rd, at the Armory in Somerville.  We will learn about the story, how it came about and how it uses opera not to retell an older story, but to bring to life a very contemporary story about the online world mixing together with the older culture of post Soviet Armenia.
