Deardra interviews Yannick Lebrun of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company concerning the upcoming Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre Encore season at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) from June 10-20. Yannick Lebrun hails from Cayenne, French Guiana. He began training in his native country at the Adaclam School under the guidance of Jeanine Verin. In 2004, he moved to New York City where he studied at The Ailey School. He joined the professional company in 2008. Mr. Lebrun has performed works by choreographers Troy Powell, Matthew Rushing, and Debbie Allen, et al.
