As part of the special first anniversary, KING MICHAEL: TRIBUTE TO THE KING OF POP, featured at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, June 26, 2010 which featured three talented artists: MICHAEL FIRESTONE, PETE CARTER and IVAN KELLEY (aka LIL MAN) portraying Michael Jackson at different stages of his amazing career, Deardra sat down with the producer and artists to learn about the extravaganza remembering Jackson's passing on June 25, 2009. The June 26 tribute was nothing short of thrilling. Pete Carter demonstrated his mastery of Michael's unique dancing, performing to such hits as “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” “Thriller,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Earth Song.” Ivan Kelly appeared as the young 'Jackson 5' MJ. The show featured electrifying solos and super-rich harmonies to Michael’s hits. The fabulous Harlem GospeLive was there as backup. Djs and other surprises were included. Deardra talked to impersonators Michael Firestone and Pete Carter about their impersonations of Michael Jackson and to the show producer Steve Love about the Tribute to the King of Pop production which left the enthusiastic audience so in awe that for one night they imagined Michael Jackson was still among us.
