Host Deardra Shuler invites French actress, Stana Roumillac, to talk about her role in the award winning film, "Elza," by filmmaker Mariette Monpierre.  Also, joining the discussion is Mist Theatre media consultant, Michelle Materre. A New York Times pick, "Elza" is presently being showcased at the brand new Mist Theatre, located at 46 West 116th Street in Harlem,  New York, until December 14th.

A young french caribbean girl, Elza, raised in Paris, returns to her cultural home of Guadeloupe, where she seeks to find the father she never knew. The film depicts the plight of children whose father's desert them and who never look back to see how their abandonment affects their children. The filmmaker, Mariette Monpierre will join us later in the show to talk about the film's message.

Actress Stana Roumillac appeared in La Femme Invisible, Brocelinnde, Belle la vie, Brigade navarro and Love Me 2030, etc.

Michelle Materre earned a M.Ed in Educational Media from Boston College and has professional experience as a film producer, writer, and arts administrator. A distribution and marketing specialist, she is an Assistant Professor of Media Studies and Film and currently the Assoc. Dir. of The Bachelor’s Program where she has taught since 2001. In 2005, Michelle received The Distinguished University Teaching award.  A founding partner of KJM3 Entertainment Group, Inc., she directly managed the marketing and positioning of 23 films including the theatrical release of Julie Dash's film Daughters of the Dust.
