Host Deardra Shuler talks to the 13th son of Josephine Baker or at least that is how Ms. Baker referred to Jean Claude after meeting him in a Paris hotel in 1957. Josephine embraced the then 14-year-old bell hop as part of her rainbow tribe of adopted children, never officially adopting him. Jean-Claude wrote a book about their relationship. Via Josephine Baker, "The Hungry Heart", a candid tell-all book, Mr. Baker and Chris Chase give an inside look into the complex and strong-willed diva's life. A restauranteur, Jean-Claude Baker is the owner of Chez Josephine, located at 9th Avenue and West 42nd Street in Manhattan where he honors the memory of his mother and serves up delicious French cuisine. He's a former model, nightclub owner, recording artist, and award-winning television producer. Josephine Baker was an American-born French dancer, singer, actress, civil rights activist and spy for the French Resistance during World War II. She was later awarded the French Croix de Guerre and the Medal of the French Resistance with Rosette. President Charles de Gaulle named her Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.
