Tim Greene was on board when Charlotte morning man, BJ Murphy and his morning crew kicked off black history month by adding Tim to the stations afternoon drive lineup wherein they gave a salute to youth radio and TV broadcasters recently at The North Carolina Film Factory. Hip Hop Filmmaker/Cool Out host, Tim Greene, kicked off his “Black History Makers Of Tomorrow Tour” in Charlotte with WGIV. Tim is taking his tour into communities across the country, celebrating talented youth and leaders of tomorrow.” “It’s great we're saluting the black history makers of the past, but we must also recognize future black history makers/ broadcasters who will tell our stories to tomorrow's world” said BJ Murphy. The tour will hit 15 major markets during black history month. Greene will also be featured on a black history month “Visions” special airing on ABC. Tim will spotlight his dedication to giving back to communities all across the country, as well as his new radio project “Tim Greene’s Big Morning Thang” and his new “Youth Hip Bop Orchestra.” The Orchestra features 7 to 12 year old musicians who play instruments like the violin or cello dressed in black tuxedos and gowns.  They write and perform classical orchestrations. “I meet thousands of kids around the country in under-served communities who need an outlet to create.  Many of these kids don't want to be rappers or basketball players. They want to be creators of positive mind enhancing product.  I’ve talked to at least 800 black students across the country on my tours who want to be valedictorians.

The “Youth Hip Bop Orchestra” will even tour and release classical Hip Bop mix tapes later this summer say’s Greene.  For further info on Tim Greene see: http://www.timgreenefilms.com/Page2.html
