Host Adilah Barnes talks with two-time Obie Award winner actress/producer Charlayne Woodard who's theatre credentials include The Witch of Edmonton, In The Blood, Stunning and Fabulation. Other notable performances include Sorrows and Rejoicings, The Good Person Of Setzuan and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. She was nominated for Tony and Drama Desk Awards for her role in the original company of Ain’t Misbehavin’. Her first solo play, Pretty Fire received LA Drama Critics and NAACP awards for best play and best playwright.
Charlayne’s film credits include: Things Never Said;Unbreakable and Around The Fire. TV credits include Run For The Dream: The Gail Devers’ Story; The Wedding; Sister Peg on Law and Order, Special Victims Unit, ER, and Terminator: The Sarah Connors Chronicles. Charlayne trained at the Goodman School of Drama and received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from DePaul University.
