Topically Yours host Deardra Shuler talks w/D’Angela Proctor,TV One’s Sr VP of Original Programming and Production, about TV One's 2015-16 season, specifically their 1 hr true crime show, 'For My Man" which premiered on  Mon, Sept. 7 at 10 p.m. ET.  The show sheds light on the outrageous and shocking stories of women who have been arrested for a crime they committed in the name of love.

Ms. Proctor provides strategic direction of all original programming and oversees all development and current production for the network. Proctor joined TV One from Strange Fruit Media, where she was a co-owner and co-president.  In the 15-year history of the company, Proctor developed, created and/or produced music videos, live music and comedy recordings, documentaries, feature films and television series.  

Proctor has worked in the television genre serving as Executive Producer and Creative Consultant to BET from 2008 to 2010.  During her stint there, she developed multiple film and television concepts, executive produced "The Family Crews", "Vindicated" and "Sunday Best," which earned the 43rd Annual NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Series in 2011.  Most recently, Proctor created the upcoming OWN docu-reality series, “Crazy. Sexy. Life.”   Proctor executive produced the "Family Reunion" television series and the "Daddy's Girl" Laila Ali documentary for the network.  Prior to that, Proctor produced television series "Exalted" and "One Night Only" and feature films "The Seat Filler" and "Book of Love," among others.

Previously, Proctor practiced law at Reed, Smith, Shaw & McClay in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College and a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University.
