FRANK (GL) HATCHETT
GL was born Frank Hatchett on November 19, 1966. GL has over thirty-five years in the music business and has been doing music since he was 13 years old. GL started out DJing where he acquired the name GL which stands for Get Loose. At the age of 19 he started performing as a rap artist, working with such people as Diane Young of Young & Company (The artist that performed the song “I like what you’re doing to me”) During which time GL found his niche in producing music. GL has worked with such people as Next, Whoodini, Color me Badd, Bud Hanks (bass player from Slave), Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Naughty by Nature, Redman, D. Don and Gov Mattic, Tame one of the Artifacts, and Smooth the Hustler and Trigger tha Gambler, just to name a few. In the late 90s GL was a part of the production team that won a Grammy for the programming and engineering of Lauryn Hill’s Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Album. Half of the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill songs were recorded out of Perfect Pair Productions, the studio that GL worked out of for the entire time that they were operating in New Jersey.
