Renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader, AMMA will be in the Detroit area November 27- December 1st and today on this segment of InTouch Interviews, Annette Rochelle Aben welcomes Irene Ryke from the Amma Center of Michigan to enlighten us as to what to expect when this amazing lady comes to town. Throughout her life, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma) has embraced more than 30 million people from all parts of the world.  Her tireless spirit of dedication to uplifting others has inspired a vast network of humanitarian activities through which people are discovering the sense of peace that comes from selflessly serving others.

Since 1987, Amma has founded chairitible, not-for-profit organizations in many countries, including Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM) in India and M.A. Center in the United States.  Amma’s charities worldwide are now known collectively as Embracing the World.  For more information you can go to www.embracingtheworld,org

As in all of Amma’s ashrams or centers worldwide, the Amma Center of Michigan, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was formed to provide a “place where people can devote their time and energy to the rememberance of God, doing selfless service and developing others.”  People gather weekly in Ann Arbor to practice spiritual principles based on Amma’s teachings and participate in various ongoing selfless services such as volunteering to feed the poor and caring for the needy.
