Reading & Riding 4 Taylor with Lakisha Chisolm

Lakisha Chisolm's is an ambitious woman who is on a mission for her daughter Taylor, who had brain surgery and when she completed the surgery, Taylor could not read any longer. Lakisha promised her daughter that she would read again. Fed up with the lack of support from Taylor’s school system, Lakisha decided to take matters into her own hands and fight for her daughter’s education and ability to read.

Taylor is a 10-year-old who underwent 3 brain surgeries in 2013. Before her surgeries Taylor was an Avid Reader until her seizures started to get worse. The seizures started to affect her memory. November of 2012 Taylor was at a 90% grade average, by February of 2013 she was tested again. At this point, Taylor tested at a couple of points above being classified as mentally retarded.

Lakisha made a Pinky Promise to her daughter after her daughters last brain surgery that she would do whatever it takes to teach her how to read again. Ms. Chisolm is a single mom and this is where the Birth of "Reading & Riding 4 Taylor" began. In 90 days Lakisha will cross The United States of America determined to raise awareness and help her daughter read again.
