When we make plans, we naturally believe that the future will go according to plan. That wrong-headed mental blindspot, the planning fallacy, results in not preparing for contingencies and problems, both predictable ones and unknown unknowns.

We suffer from the tendency to prioritize the short term, and undercount the importance of medium and long-term outcomes. Known as hyperbolic discounting, this cognitive bias is especially bad for evaluating the potential long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Gleb Tsipursky wants to protect us from cognitive bias and joins Adam to share his insight and strategies for adapting to the pandemic.

Discover:

  • How to identify where the current reaction to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic might be oriented excessively toward a short-term and/or optimistic outlook;
  • The neuroscience-based evidence for how we tend to make poor choices in the face of slow-moving major disruptions like the pandemic;
  • Techniques to evaluate and shift your career trajectory, professional development, and business model to adapt to and plan effectively for the pandemic;
  • How to develop a long-term strategic plan to navigate successfully the disruptions caused by the pandemic;
  • And so much more!

We're not out of the COVID-19 woods yet, and if you want to learn how to prepare for long-term, tune in!
