It is already midway into September but the heat of Agust is still on. And while it is been our tradition to celebrate life, our joys and triumphs and even make peace with our catastrophic circumstances, it is noted that these changes in climatic conditions are unprecedented. We cannot ignore them in the midst of our celebrations. There is unprecedented rainfail in Lybia leading to flooding resulting on the loss of at,least 11 thousand lives. There is an earhquake in Morocco reulting in another massive loss of life. There is flooding in Brazil and  many other climatic catastrophies. Let's take time to extend our empathy to our brothers and sisters across the world who are dealing with the destructive impact if these climatic conditions. There may not be much we can do but at least we can have a conversation and remind ourselves that we are not immune or invicible to these conditions. So let's talk.

For decades we have been warned that the manner in which we exploit the earth and its resources without taking caution to the destruction of the natural environment and its vulnerable habitats we were charting the course of our own destruction. With the assassination of Moamar Ghadafi, Lybia has been thrown into conflict and its infracstructure has not been able to supply the required maintenance. Two damns broke sending destructive flood waters across the country. The self-ordained leaders of the free world have ignored the warnings choosing instead to the maintain the status quo by which they could maintain wealth, power and dominance over the earth by the elite. They called it progress, modernization and the preservation of the greatest civilization. Does the end result seem like the decisions of civilized people? Join the conversation or tell us what you want to talk about; we would be happy to hear from you.
